Running a full time community radio station will come with both challenges and also opportunities. Our mission is to use the radio to promote peace and tolerance through education and dialogue. We aim to strengthen communities and provide a platform to all segments of society regardless of race, religion, gender or creed. We aim to promote community cohesion and breakdown barriers so we can contribute towards creating a cohesive society. We also aim at providing the youth with the opportunity to develop their skills set within the media industry. We aim to help eliminate gang related violence and address some of the fundamental reasons that lead young people to join gangs. Our goal is to address the concerns of the local community such as domestic violence, child abuse, disability issues, unemployment and terrorism related activities. We have partnered up with the Minhaj Welfare Foundation who have provided us with the premises for our studio rent free. The groundwork including the business plan has been competed and we have moved into the branding stage. Although we have not announced a launch date we are confident that we will commence broadcasting in 2018.
